ABOUT ALLERGY TESTING /TREATMENT...

As our modern way of life has steadily grown more complex, more people than ever are developing an allergy of some sort, in response to the increasing range of substances we have introduced into our homes, gardens and general environment.

An allergy arises when the body's immune system responds in an adverse way to one or more external stimuli, known as allergens. Allergens can take many different forms. They can be in the form of air born substances, such as dust, pollen, aerosols, perfume, animal hair, environmental pollution etc, which may cause symptoms including asthma or other respiratory problems. They can take the form of food intolerance or sensitivity, which can cause digestive disorders, headaches, joint aches and pains, tiredness etc., and allergies can also be caused by substances that come into contact with the skin, resulting in irritation, soreness or rashes.

Traditional allergy testing usually involves blood tests to determine the effect of a specific allergen on the immune system, and orthodox medical treatment often involves prescribing anti-histamine drugs, to treat the symptoms of the allergy, by blocking the body's response to the allergen.

Increasingly however, more holistic methods are being used, which are non invasive, and work bio energetically - responding to a person's energy system that may be out of balance. Sometimes if we suddenly develop an allergy to a substance we've not previously had a problem with, this could indicate a disruption in the balance of our energetic pathways, perhaps brought on by prolonged stress, illness or sudden trauma.

Holistic Allergy Testing practitioners may offer different testing methods, but they will try to determine the source of the allergy or insensitivity, looking at the system as a whole. After assessing your specific needs, they will recommend the best form of treatment. There are various holistic allergy elimination techniques available, and your chosen practitioner will be able to explain their particular method in more depth.

Several types of holistic therapy can help reduce or remove the effects of allergies, and where one might fail, another might be more successful, depending on your health requirements. Whichever method you use, the ultimate aim of any holistic treatment is to restore the body, mind and spirit back to a balanced and healthy condition.
