ABOUT COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY...

COLONIC HYDROTHERAPY, also known as COLONIC IRRIGATION or COLON HYDROTHERAPY
is a safe, gentle inner cleansing treatment for the colon (large intestine).

Using sterilised or disposable equipment, warm filtered water is fed into the colon, a small amount at a time, and this stimulates the bowel to empty itself, ridding the body of accumulated fecal matter, poisonous toxins and gas. It differs from an enema in that there is no retention of water in the bowel, just a gentle flow in and out of the colon through the attached inlet and outlet tubes. The colonic practitioner may also perform an abdominal massage to further stimulate and tone the colon, and assist in the elimination of waste and pockets of gas.

Colonic cleansing has proven useful in treating many conditions, particularly bowel conditions such as IBS and constipation. It can also be used to effectively treat a whole range of other ailments such as allergies, arthritis, candida, digestive problems, headaches, skin problems, parasitic infections, ME, fatigue and many more.

A colonic treatment lasts about 30-45 minutes, and the trained practitioner will normally spend some time with you before your first treatment, taking your case history, explaining the procedure, and should generally put you at ease if you are at all nervous.

Increasingly being used in the UK as part of Naturopathic healing, it also plays a useful part in cleansing and detoxification regimes, fasting and weight loss programmes.
A colonic hydrotherapy treatment is gentle, painless, and should leave you feeling internally clean, toned and revitalised.

Disclaimer:

The Therapists Directory on this website is designed primarily to provide a space where holistic health professionals and healers can advertise their work. Whilst certain general criteria have to be fulfilled before being given a listing on our site, the fact that a therapist or practitioner's details are on display here does not imply any personal or professional recommendation by Holistic Promotions. We accept the details offered to us by each practitioner in good faith - that includes relevant qualifications, memberships/registrations etc. and confirmation that they are insured to practice. Each practitioner listed should be happy to show you evidence of all these things if you ask them - which we advise you to do at the first appointment or sooner, for your own peace of mind. We can accept no responsibility for the action, behaviour or malpractice of any practitioner listed on this site.

Information about therapies shown on these pages is for general interest and guidance only, and is not intended to replace professional healthcare advice. As this directory is purely an advertising medium for holistic health practitioners, we do not offer an information service, and are unable to answer enquiries about specific therapies, training, etc. If you need further information, please contact the relevant listed practitioners, or Therapy Associations, Councils or Regulatory bodies - many of which you will find listed on our ADDRESSES & INFO page.
