I've been in practice since 1997 and have experience treating a wide variety of psychological problems, and some physical problems such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and immune system disorders.
I worked in the Delamere Centre, a Halton NHS specialist treatment centre for cancer, run in conjunction with Macmillan Nurses.

I have specialist knowledge of the treatment of a variety of anxiety disorders such as: agoraphobia & social phobia, simple phobias (spiders, wasps, thunderstorms etc), anxiety, stress, worry, unresolved grief, exam nerves, and panic attacks.

Clients come to me frequently also for help with problems of low self-esteem, self-confidence, dealing with difficult relationships, and public speaking, but one of the most interesting areas is that of helping people to improve their personal performance and bring much greater success into their lives. This is done by utilising hypnosis to change deep-rooted self-limiting beliefs, thus allowing inspiration and natural creativity to express itself.

Monika trained with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, whose syllabus covers a comprehensive range of hypnotherapeutic techniques integrated with a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches such as Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the Person Centred approach to counselling and NLP.
Monika works on the basis that our subconscious doesn't distinguish between what is a past, present or future event; everything is present.
She uses approaches from Parts Therapy to get her client in touch with the part that is holding on to habits, emotions and behaviour patterns.

When people are stuck, Monika has helped them to gain clarity and to move on using the process of Resonance Repatterning®. This is a therapy for people who consciously want to engage in a process of change.
She offers Talks and Workshops and welcomes working with businesses.
The trademark Resonance Repatterning® is used under license from Chloe Faith Wordsworth.

I am a Registered Nurse and have practised in the caring profession for many years as a Community Nurse and Sexual Health & Family Planning Nurse. I practised as a counsellor/hypno-psychotherapist part-time in a GP Surgery from l993 to 2007 and I am now a private practitioner. I am also a Psychosexual Counsellor and specialise in Gender Dysphoria.

I see clients with many underlying issues which can be treated successfully with hypnosis. I am experienced in Inner Child work, which is a wonderful therapy to allow the adult to meet their inner child and work through issues that stem back to child hood, and allows the client to grow into confident adults.

I have a sensitive and caring approach
and I am happy to discuss any issues over the telephone prior to an appointment.

ABOUT HYPNOTHERAPY...

HYPNOTHERAPY is a useful short term therapy that can help to resolve problems originating from the subconscious mind.
When carried out by a trained and qualified therapist, it is a safe and beneficial therapy, often bringing about long lasting, or even permanent results.

Our conscious mind - the part that we use every day for normal thinking processes, only operates at the surface level.
The subconscious mind however, functions at a deeper level, and this is where we keep our memories, habits, fears and all the things that make us automatically respond to the situations we encounter during our lives.

Many of the emotional or mental problems we experience, may only be outward symptoms of a deeper underlying cause, triggered by what is stored in our subconscious mind. As we try to deal with the various stressful or traumatic situations we can find ourselves in, we are not usually aware of how these things are affecting us at a deeper level. If we don't take any action, over time these can build up, and eventually start to manifest as outward emotional, mental or even physical symptoms.

By using hypnosis, a skilled hypnotherapist is able to easily access and communicate with the deeper levels of the mind, in order to find the root cause of these symptoms, and then help you resolve them. Hypnosis is a hypnotic trance state, which is a pleasant relaxing experience, similar to daydreaming, where you are neither awake nor asleep, but you're still aware of your surroundings and what is happening.

Hypnosis can be used to treat a whole range of problems, such as fears and phobias, addictions, eg smoking or over eating, compulsive behaviour, emotional problems, bed wetting, sleep problems, stress related problems and anxiety, boosting self confidence and performance, and many more. It can also be used to control pain, even during operations or dental treatment.

Therapists use hypnosis within a variety of subjects, and there are numerous different branches available. Some Hypnotherapists may cover a wide range, whilst others specialise in specific areas, such as smoking cessation, weight loss, addictions or regression.
