I have been practicing holistic therapies for over 17 years, I also trained in India to be a Yoga Teacher at the Sivananda Ashram in 2004. I now work intuitively with all my experiences in the field of holistic health, integratiing yoga and meditation practices, with massage therapy and healing, more recently working with sound healing using my voice and a shamanic drum.
This works on a very subtle level helping the recipient to unblock and rebalance the subtle energies of the energetic system which is working on a deeper level than just the physical body. Sound healing sessions also combine well with holistic massage therapy.

I run sound and movement workshops called Heartsounds which are fun, very freeing creatively incorporating primordial sound and mantra etc..
I work with my friend and Yoga colleague, Chelsea Canovas in running Yoga retreats in Snowdonia twice a year.

My main aim is to facilitate people in their own healing process in a way that treats the person as a whole, working with mind, body, energy and awareness... not forgetting a bit of laughter therapy here and there!

ABOUT SOUND THERAPY...

The use of sound as a tool for healing and development has been around for thousands of years, and sound therapy today is based on a combination of ancient techniques and modern scientific knowledge.

We know that all matter vibrates at a certain frequency, including everything that makes up our physical bodies.
In the same way that as an orchestra needs each individual instument to be in tune to sound in harmony, so do our energy systems, internal organs and glands each need to vibrate at the right 'note' for us to enjoy optimum health.

All too often we become out of balance energetically - perhaps due to a demanding lifestyle, poor diet or stressful environment. This results in our energy systems, or chakras, vibrating 'out of tune' and our physical, mental or emotional health start to suffer.
Each chakra resonates to and responds to a different sound and colour. Like colour therapy, sound therapy can also be used to 're tune' the chakras, and bring the mind, body and spirit back into harmony.

During a sound therapy session, you will normally be asked to either sit or lie down on a therapy couch fully clothed, where you will experience a variety of sounds, aimed at restoring the body's energy system to its original frequencies. Sound therapists use a variety of ancient and modern instruments for this purpose, which can include singing bowls, gongs, special tuning forks, drums, bells, wind chimes, didgeridoos, music, sounds of nature or vocal toning. Sometimes kinesiology or muscle testing is used, to determine what is specifically needed by each part of the body or each chakra.

Sound therapy has been shown to successfully improve many conditions, including insomnia, anxiety and depression, hearing problems, high blood pressure, learning disabilities, poor concentration and behavioural problems in children.
