| I
have worked as a fitness professional
for 10 years and through this career
I became increasingly aware of how stress,
poor posture, and lifestyle
choice can affect our
mental and in turn our
physical well being.
Due to this I became increasingly interested
in how I could help to alleviate my
clients' stress, anxieties, muscular pain and
aches in order to promote positive
lifestlye changes.
As a result I qualified in
massage and Indian
Head massage and I truly believe that
regular massage is a key factor
in positive mental well-being
as well as the obvious physical benefits.
I offer an in-house service
or mobile, and each
massage is tailored to the individual client's
needs. Day/evening and weekend
appointments are available. |

| Jackie
Fairweather was a successful fitness instructor
and personal trainer, but following shoulder
injuries sustained in a car accident in 1995,
she was unable to continue down this career
path. While living in Belgium she was introduced
to Five Element Acupuncture
to help relieve pain and regain movement
from her injuries whilst addressing the emotional
issues.
Jackie became a qualified and licensed
acupuncturist in May 2002.
She treated many patients in her final year
at college and then set up a busy practice in
Egham, Surrey, before relocating to West Kirby
with her family in 2003.
Jackie
continues to augment her skills and
completed the Zita West courses in acupuncture
to aid fertility and health
during pregnancy. In addition she regularly
attends workshops and conferences in acupuncture
and allied skills.
Jackie is now an Zita West Affiliated
Acupuncturist specialising in fertility
and pregnancy. Jackie Fairweather is a

ABOUT STRESS MANAGEMENT...
All of us experience stress at some time during our lives.
What we feel as ‘stress’ is our body’s mental
or physical response - either positive or negative, to something
outside ourselves that puts pressure on our normal coping mechanisms.
Positive stress is usually short lived and can be beneficial.
For example, if we choose to undertake a challenge, such as
a bungee jump or a public performance, we're more likely to
experience the stress as a form of exhilaration or excitement,
which leaves us feeling good after the event.
Negative stress on the other hand, is usually more prolonged,
and results when our normal coping abilities are repeatedly
challenged on a day-to-day basis, perhaps in a demanding work
or domestic situation. If we can see no apparent end to these
pressures upon us, and we don’t take steps to manage our
stress effectively, the chronic stress that results starts to
wear us down, both mentally and physically. Over time, our body's
own natural healing ability decreases and as a result we become
more prone to illness, disease and psychological disorders.
Even just asking for help can make a difference to how we feel.
There's now a wide range of help available to assist us in coping
with the ever increasing demands made upon us, and there is
no need to 'suffer in silence'.
Stress Management practitioners usually offer a combination
of techniques, tailored to the individual, which are designed
to help you deal with and manage your stress effectively. These
can range from intensive counselling or psychotherapy, to a
relaxing massage with soothing oils, to help you unwind and
get a good night's sleep.
Many practitioners also offer stress management strategies not
only for the individual, but also for organisations, in the
workplace, aimed at both employee and management level.
Effective stress management helps us maintain a healthy mind
and body, so that we're in a much better position to withstand
any increase in the level of pressures we face.

The Therapists Directory on this website is
designed primarily to provide a space where holistic health
professionals and healers can advertise their work. Whilst certain
general criteria have to be fulfilled before being given a listing
on our site, the fact that a therapist or practitioner's details
are on display here does not imply any personal or professional
recommendation by Holistic Promotions. We accept the details
offered to us by each practitioner in good faith - that includes
relevant qualifications, memberships/registrations etc. and
confirmation that they are insured to practice. Each practitioner
listed should be happy to show you evidence of all these things
if you ask them - which we advise you to do at the first appointment
or sooner, for your own peace of mind. We can accept no responsibility
for the action, behaviour or malpractice of any practitioner
listed on this site.
Information about therapies shown on these pages is for general
interest and guidance only, and is not intended to replace professional
healthcare advice. As this directory is purely an advertising
medium for holistic health practitioners, we do not offer an
information service, and are unable to answer enquiries about
specific therapies, training, etc. If you need further information,
please contact the relevant listed practitioners, or Therapy
Associations, Councils or Regulatory bodies - many
of which you will find listed on our ADDRESSES
